Alfred de Souza
Lord Alfred de Souza was a British aristocrat and father of Christina de Souza.

Alfred de Souza was born to Eugenia de Souza's older brother. (AUDIO: Outback) He sat in the House of Lords (AUDIO: Long Shot) and had a daughter, Christina. He regularly cheated on his wife with au pairs, secretaries, yoga instructors and horse trainers.
Christina accused Alfred of not being there for her mother when she was dying. Following her death, Alfred sent Christina to ski camps and language schools during the holidays to keep her out of the way. Alfred attended a party where he encountered Christina, whom he chastised for her crimes and accused of disgracing the family name. When the Amber attacked, he hid himself away with Benji and threw him out of the hiding space upon realising that he was about to be taken by the Amber. Christina rescued him and they argued about their damaged relationship.
Deciding to help the Amber by facilitating their invasion of Earth, Alfred send Christina away and attempted to negotiate, but he was rejected and swarmed by the Amber beetles. Christina and Sylvia Noble defeated the Amber and Sam Bishop arrived with UNIT to help the surviving guests. Afterwards, Sylvia confronted him and warned him to mend his relationship with Christina in the future. (AUDIO: Skin Deep)
Alfred met Bunny Warren, a dancer, and entered into a relationship with her, giving her all manner of creams to ensure that she remained looking youthful. He proposed to her with his wife's ring and celebrated their engagement on a yacht, paid for with charity money, off the coast of Zanzibar. In truth, he chose the location in the hopes of finding at least one of the three lost shipwrecks believed to be there.
Unexpectedly joined by Christina, Alfred dived with her to the coral reef and found the wreck of a ship as well as that of a spacecraft. He drugged her to keep her from interfering when he dived again to see what could be removed from the wrecks and brought up the bodies of two slaves who had turned into bejewelled statues. When Bunny became infected, he initially refused to allow UNIT or a doctor to see her and, after her death, he realised that he too was infected and left on Sam Bishop's boat. (AUDIO: The Wreck)

Using his power to turn people into jewels, Alfred went about London murdering illegal bookies to whom he owed money, bringing him to the attention of Jacqui McGee and, later, UNIT. Sam chased him outside Messingham's, but Alfred was able to escape and return to his hotel room after turning Sam's vehicle into jewels. When Christina visited him, he ordered her to leave once he began to succumb to his infection.
Alfred was visited once again by Christina, who tested the alpha wave gun on him and left him unconscious. The following day, he attended the Royal Northcote Races and, to prevent UNIT from assassinating him, Christina faked his death by stunning him once more and having Ivo Hislop-Cannon take him away in an ambulance. Unsure of what to do with him in the long term, Christina took him to a private facility to be kept sedated. (AUDIO: Long Shot)
