Lucius Geta
Though not the Praetorian Prefect, Commander Lucius Geta led the Praetorian Guard during Emperor Claudius's involvement in the Roman conquest of Britain in 43 AD. In this capacity, he crossed paths with one or more Time Lords and their companions, potentially including Leora, the Colonel, and/or the Third Doctor.
Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]
Lucius Geta was granted command of eight cohorts of Emperor Claudius's Praetorian Guard as a byproduct of his brother Gnaeus's victories in Mauretania, which got Gnaeus promoted to the status of a Legionary Commander within the Roman conquest of Britain. Eager to prove himself and hopefully climb the ranks all the way to the top, Lucius recognised that Claudius had a paranoid disposition, and, having a naturally suspicious mind to begin with, decided to play upon it to impress his master, being wildly overeager in seeing plots and assassins everywhere. When a group of time travellers arrived at Claudius's camp alongside Marcus Cornelius Falco, Lucius Geta was united with Military Secretary Posides in mistrusting the strangers' claims that Claudius's forces were marching towards a massive ambush. Split between Geta and Posides's advice on one hand, and Aulus Plautius's on the other, Claudius ended up ordering a few days' pause to consider; (GAME: "In the Roman camp" [+]Part of The Legions of Death, Loading...{"namedep":"In the Roman camp","1":"The Legions of Death (game)"}) the time travellers were given quarters in the Praetorians' section of the camp, at Geta's request, so he could keep an eye on them. Physical appearance[[edit] | [edit source]]
At the time of the Great Britain campaign, Geta was a "dark, quiet little man" in his 30s, with "suspicious eyes". He was short and stocky, and arely wore his full armour, preferring a plain toga, although he donned his armour whenever his duties as Guard Commander required it.
