Lynley

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Mr Lynley was the Master of the Revels when William Shakespeare wrote the play Love's Labour's Won in 1599. When he said to Shakespeare that the play would never be played because of short notice, a Carrionite called Lilith killed him by drowning him with her doll, filling his lungs full of water. She took some of his hair prior by bumping into him to attach to the doll, where he addressed her as a prostitute whom he would seek out later. (TV: The Shakespeare Code)

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

Lynley is based on historical figure Sir Edmund Tilney (1536–1610), Master of the Revels from 1579 until his death.[source needed] Tilney, whose life was not well-documented, is best known in popular culture for his portrayal in the movie Shakespeare in Love (1998) by Simon Callow.
