Nicholaa de la Haye was the sheriff of Lincoln. She got annoyed when her granddaughter, Idonea de Camville, wanted to marry a knight who wrote poetry. She thought that the First Doctor was a spy. After sending the taxes collected to London, she had to negotiate the defence of the city when the French attacked. She gave the Monk a note to go to London. (AUDIO: The Outlaws)
