Rennigan's Record was a short story by David Whitaker written before his death in 1980. It was originally intended to be part of a never-completed collection of original Doctor Who short stories called The Journeys of Doctor Who. In 1993, Doctor Who Magazine published the story posthumously in issue #200.

- This story is sometimes mistaken for a Brief Encounter. In fact, it has nothing to do with that series. It is one of the many short stories published in the pages of Doctor Who Magazine.
- This story is set in 1994. Originally intended to be years in the future, it was ironically published in 1993.
