Rhodenet was a member of House Meddhoran who, along with the rest of the house, fled from the homeworld to the netherweald as part of Goralschai's larger plans. While in the decaying netherweald, a flaw in the structure of the realm was discovered, which Rhodenet used to escape, hoping it was a way they could survive the ongoing destruction of the realm. However, the flaw was a trap set up by Goralschai, and reloomed him, sending him back in time to act as Goralschai's agent during the events leading up to the New Fire Ceremony, Momacani.

Momacani appeared out of nowhere in Tenochtitlan, having no past in particular, but at the same time not seeming overtly suspicious. His mentor Ocotochtli described him as coming from out of the clouds and mist, or a story that has been read many times but is still just a story. (PROSE: Against Nature) He was trained as a priest and inducted into the Ixtilque after analysing some dead Mocolxiutecatl. (PROSE: Prelude to Against Nature)

Momacani was later sent to deal with Atonal's deal with a spirit he identified as Huemac and the appearance of a headless giant in a forest. This confluence of events led to him being declared the Ixiptla of Huitzilopochtli and sacrificed at the New Fire Ceremony along with Goralschai in order to renew the world. He would later be reborn for a second time and announce his desire to find the city of Aztlan, holding little interest in the continuation of Tenochtitlan, having the knowledge that it would fall soon.
