Selka was the daughter of Dakota Bly, who was worried about her safety after a few blunders. According to her mother she had gone missing recently. She later tried to stop the Eighth Doctor and her mother from investigating Kedge Ampston because she was converted into an android. Dakota later recovered her original human form.
