Shockeye's mother was the matriarch of the Quawncing Grig. One of her favourite sayings was "waste not, want not".
Whilst she was skilled with a skillet, she was poor at poetry and sang her son poor quality lullabies that she made up. He inherited her love of music and wrote a song comparing the taste of human to that of jaffa-beasts, corcorants and geldeeks. (PROSE: The Two Doctors)
