Over the years, he  appeared in episodes of the television series ''Dixon of Dock Green'', ''Dad's Army,'' ''[[Wikipedia:The Avengers|The Avengers]],'' ''Rumpole of the Bailey,'' and ''Some Mothers Do 'Ave Em''.  He also had supporting roles in the television miniseries, ''Reilly: Ace of Spies,'' ''Masada,'' and ''War and Remembrance,'' and played a German officer in the film, ''Where Eagles Dare''.
