In my view, a companion needs to travel with the Doctor in at least two stories ''or'' assist him regularly in a time when he doesn't have a TARDIS (so basically, just Three). Sara Kingdom counts due to the unusual length of said story (heck, you can fit in other ones into the middle of it); the UNIT people count only for Three; but I don't count Grace, Astrid, Jackson Lake, Rosita, or Lady Christina. Ten's companions are Rose, Mickey, Martha, Jack (for the last three episodes of series 3-it was one story, but I still count it because RTD considers it to be two-though he's wrong as usual), and Donna. | |||
