The Old Enemy (Chapter 5)
The Doctor is back into contact with you and will ask how you are, before moving onto the next part of the quest. He reminds you that the last time you spoke he was on the run from the Keepers on Shar-Tek. Nardole reminds him that he was also on the run. He states that the TARDIS team is high-fiving, telling you to high-five yourself also. He summarises that so far there have been four collected segments of the Key to Time but someone has been messing around. The speculates the Celestial Toymaker, because he loves games and he can imagine him causing chaos with the Key. He later speculates the Trickster, because he and his brigade are constantly trying to cause chaos which he feeds on. If he's responsible then no doubt he'd be feasting by now. Finally, he suggest Gomez, his old friend the Master, as with her, anything could be possible. He states that he's been trying to work out if it could be any of them, before the TARDIS is hit. He mentions that everything is going wobbly, like back during the Triton incident but worse. The Doctor starts feedings numbers, where you need to multiply them by three, and then subtract three. The first number is 3, so you give the number 6. The next number is 5, so you give the number 12. Then 8, so you give the number 21. Next is 20, the number you give being 57. He believes that you've done it, but another number comes in. It's 62563964590534064. Before you can give the co-ordinate, the Unknown messages, stating that he finally has them, and enjoys watching them get lost in the maze.

The Doctor starts feeding numbers to you to help him out, where you need to multiply them by three, then subtract three. The code goes 3, 6; 5, 12; 8, 21; 20, 57. He believes that you have done it, but another number comes in - 62563964590534064. Before you can give the co-ordinate, the Unknown sender messages, stating that he finally has you, and enjoys watching you and the Doctor get lost in their maze.

The Doctor tries to speak to it, asking who they are and why they want the Key. However the figure explains how they don't want it. The Doctor doesn't understand, but the figure reveals that it's their employers that want the key. The Doctor asks who the employers are, and almost instantly, Field Marshal Plask sends an incoming message, stating that they are now prisoners of the Sontaran Empire. The Doctor is confused however, as the games and riddles aren't Sontaran behaviour. Plask replies that they are the greatest military strategists in all the galaxies (both known and unknown variants), and that they emploted the agent in order to track them. The Doctor isn't amused, and pokes fun at his strategy saying that it's getting someone else to do their dirty work for them. Plask retaliates with that the Doctor believed that he was in combat with a Trickster. The agent asks when it'll be receiving payment. The Doctor tells you to stay calm and tells the agent that the payment won't be what they expected... death. Plask reveals that the TARDIS is now under their control and is being taken into Sontar at the heart of the empire. The Doctor tells you not to panic, and that it's been fun and lovely working with you. But the Doctor thinks you've done all that you can, and that he'll try to get back in touch when and if they get through this. Plask states that illegal communication between the Doctor's TARDIS and Earth has now been terminated, and he wishes the human well in any future battles.

However, shortly after a new incoming transmission is received from Grex. He asks if he's communicating with you. He reveals that he is scientist Grex of the Sontaran Empire and that he's using the Doctor's channel to avoid detection by other Sontarans. He asks you for help. He says that it is dishonourable for the Sontaran Empire to use the Key to Time, and asks for your help to rescue the Doctor and halt Plask's campaign. Grex first decides to test your abilities. He says how they're a race of clones and are identical. He altered his appearance so that you'll be able to locate him on Sontar. He sends you four images, and asks you to identify him. After identified, he says that you'll assist him in the future, and that he'll contract you when they are ready to rescue the Doctor. He also says how you may fall in battle, but it'll be for a glorious cause. A final Sontar-Ha, and the communication ends.
