Is the ninth doctors screwdriver different from the ones used by the tenth in his earlier adventures? The ninth doctor's seems to emit a small beam of light/energy when in use, most notable in rose and world war three. However this is not seen in other episodes such as parting of the ways and when the tenth doctor uses it in Christmas invasion, it does not emit the light either.
