Doctor Who photo novelisations: Difference between revisions

The '''''Doctor Who'' photo novelisations''' were a series of prose adaptations of ''[[Doctor Who]]'' episodes, published by [[Pearson]]. Like the series of [[The Sarah Jane Adventures photo novelisations|''The Sarah Jane Adventures'' photo novelisations]] they followed, they contained minimal text descriptions alongside photos from the epiwere part of a school reading programme that taught children how to read. All ''Doctor Who'' photo novelisations were suitable for fluent plus readers. They only had a few text and a lot of photos, which illustrated the text.

They were released in three groups. The first set of four, released in [[2012 (releases)|2012]], was based on episodes from ''Doctor Who'' [[series 5 (Doctor Who 2005)|series 5]]; two were written by [[Trevor Baxendale]], who had previously composed the SJA novelisations, and two were written by [[Peter Gutierrez]], whose books contained much less text than Baxendale's.

The next set of three were released in [[2018 (releases)|2018]]. Notably, these novelisations were attributed to the actual authors of the [[series 8 (Doctor Who 2005)|series 8]] episodes on which they were based. A final batch of three novelisations based on [[series 9 (Doctor Who 2005)|series 9]] were released two and a half months later.
