While I do agree that it's a pretty minor connection, I feel that it's better to have them than not, both for the purposes of illustrating the connection (albeit minor), as well as to show what the characters look like for anyone living under a rock (although they can obviously also follow the link to [[w:c:spongebob:Encylopedia SpongeBobia]]).
