In this case, you're dealing with a lot of real-life historical and literary references. The Wikipedia articles would explain far more than a Doctor Who page could ever duplicate in these instances. Stuff like the Jacobites, Bonnie Prince Charlie, et al. is not necessarily common knowledge.
