She couldn't arrange to go on holiday at the critical time, no. She could still avoid him, though. By the time she got to Leadworth, she had seen what he looked like in his 11th incarnation. All she'd need to do would be to keep out of his (and Amy's) sight. He wasn't there for very long and, even in a small place like that, it's possible to stay away from someone for a few hours, if you want to.
