* The Sergeant who dies in the story is stated to be [[Benton|Benton's]] immediate predecessor, thus setting this story before ''[[The Ambassadors of Death]]''. Liz comments wryly upon the oddly British practice employed by UNIT of "hot sweet tea" salving all wounds.
