Talk:Doctor Who in an Exciting Adventure with the Daleks (in-universe)
Merge request[[edit source]]
So, in The Taking of Planet 5, a book known as Doctor ? in an Exciting Adventure With the Enemy was shared illicitly between Time Lords, albeit with a censored name for War security.
One of his earliest post-Loom memories had been of a gang of hard-bitten inductees sharing a banned copy of Doctor ? – all proper names had been auto-edited out of bases’ message system for reasons of war security, and even the downloaded underground flimsies hadn’t been free of the software – In an Exciting Adventure With the Enemy.
From this quote, we can clearly see that the name of the book which was given on Gallifrey is not its true title. Now, in Bafflement and Devotion, Iris Wildthyme gave the Eighth Doctor an old paperback copy of Doctor Who in an Exciting Adventure with the Daleks - so we absolutely have the book with its correct title within N-Space. Furthermore, The Quantum Archangel tells us that the Daleks are indeed an possible identity of the Enemy, further increasing the evidence.
With the evidence I have provided, I believe this is a solid case for Doctor ? in an Exciting Adventure with the Enemy to be merged with Doctor Who in an Exciting Adventure with the Daleks. Yes, this information isn't explicitly stated, but there's enough evidence to tell us what we need to know.

- Regardless of whether or not a merge occurs outright, this identification can and should be made on relevant pages. – N8 (☎/👁️) 21:36, 9 December 2020 (UTC)
- Furthermore, both books are also clearly about an adventure of the Doctor, so that's another piece of evidenceto support the merge. 23:46, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
- Mmh. Alright. Seeing the Taking of Planet 5 version in its proper context, it does seem like there's not actually any conflict between the two versions of the book, and they're clearly intended to be the same thing. Will go forward with the merge. Scrooge MacDuck ☎ 23:48, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
