Talk:Dal Karlton

Behind the scenes[[edit source]]

Is there a specific reason why the mention of Karlton in the Placebo effect part of the behind the scenes and not the main body? Anastasia Cousins 14:05, 7 July 2023 (UTC)

The "most likely referring to him" phrasing suggests to me that whoever added that note thought the problem was that it's ambiguous whether Placebo Effect is talking about the same Karlton as opposed to some other guy by the same name. Which seems to me to be over-worry, but worth discussing, I suppose. Can somebody dig up some quotes? Scrooge MacDuck 16:34, 7 July 2023 (UTC)

The Doctor bluffs his way past some SSS officers by saying "All right, how about I say I'm here by the request of SSS Headquarters on Earth? Dal Karlton, that's the chap." Later, a character is said to have sought "the attention of the head of the SSS, Karlton." I don't see how we could possibly conclude that this is a different Karlton; indeed, the article is already confused by attributing his forename "Dal", which is original to Placebo Effect, to another story. – n8 () 19:19, 10 July 2023 (UTC)
