Tia Kofi was a Clapham drag queen and one of the many ordinary humans identified by the Doctor and sent to UNIT (WC: Tia Kofi Enters the Time Fracture!) as part of Operation Time Fracture. (PROSE: Welcome to Operation Time Fracture)

Tia Kofi was chosen to take part in Operation Time Fracture by an incarnation of the Doctor who wore a fez and bowtie, and would say "Come along, Pond". Kofi reported to the UNIT Black Site where the Time Fracture stood, having dressed up in an outfit inspired by the Doctor's, and was welcomed by Doctor Errol Courtney, who confirmed that her name was indeed on the list sent in by the Doctor.
After briefing Kofi on the basics of the Fracture's nature and the Operation's purpose — namely, finding out what was really causing the Fracture on the other side — Doctor Courtney led Kofi through to the Portal Stabilisation Gateway. Tia Kofi emerged in what she soon realised to be Elizabethan England, in the house of William Shakespeare, who was feeling depressed due to his latest play having flopped. She half-hearted claimed to be a candlestick maker, and stuck around with him for a while as he found her presence invigorating; he began to write Romeo and Juliet with Kofi in mind for the Juliet role.
However, an aftershock from the Time Fracture transported Kofi out of Shakespeare's home and dropped her in the royal court, where she engaged a courtier in conversation, with him misinterpreting Tia's self-identification as a "queen" and agreeing to introduce her to Elizabeth I under the misapprehension that she was foreign royalty. They were briefly menaced by a Cyberman which had been transported to the court by the Fracture, but after briefly ducking back into the Gateway Kofi was able to arrive safely in Elizabeth's throne room. The conversation quickly irritated Elizabeth, who did not appreciate Kofi's familiar tone, and ended up ordering her beheaded as Kofi fled back to the Gateway to resume trying to save the universe.
