Trotskyist
Trotskyist, or Trotskyite, (AUDIO: State of Emergency, Artificial Intelligence) was a term used to refer to the followers of the communist ideology associated with the Bolshevik revolutionary Leon Trotsky. (PROSE: History 101, AUDIO: Last of the Romanovs)
Trotskyists were opposed to Joseph Stalin and Stalinists. Leon Trotsky was killed by Stalinists (PROSE: Spiral Scratch) with an ice pick to the head after falling out of Stalin's favour. (AUDIO: Last of the Romanovs, PROSE: Sometime Never...) After the rise of Stalin, many Trotskyists operated in exile and plotted against the Soviet Communist Party. According to the Soviet press reporting on the Spanish Civil War, the Partido Obero de Unificacion Marxista was a Trotskyist organisation because they opposed Stalin. (PROSE: History 101)
