Thanks for your recent edits! I'm Jimbo, your robot wiki representative! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is actually a great time to have joined, because we're now fully independent, and working on a host of new features!

We've got a couple of important quirks for a fan written wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.

British English, please

We generally use British English 'round these parts, so if you use another form of English, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.

Spoilers aren't cool

We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.

Other useful stuff

Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:

If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! —  you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:

Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:
~ ~ ~ ~

Thanks for becoming a member of the TARDIS crew! If you have any questions, see the Help pages, add a question to one of the Forums or ask an admin.

Recent posts within the forum and recent page creations/editsedit source

Hi, the forum should be used to discuss articles and issues with regard to this wiki, rather than general questions and discussion topics. There are several Doctor Who related forums out there on the web just for this. --Tangerineduel 17:21, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Please be careful when creating pages that a page does not already exist. Also watch when creating pages so as not to end up with misnamed articles. Such actions may be seen as unintentional vandalism and will be removed. --Tangerineduel 14:00, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Also remember to sign your posts in the forum or talk pages (using the signature button (third from the right in the series of buttons) or four tildes(~~~~). --Tangerineduel 14:02, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Personal imagesedit source

Please do not upload personal images which are not related to the TARDIS wikia. --Tangerineduel 17:29, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Minor editsedit source

Anything other than correcting minor punctuation is not a minor edit, your addition to Forum:Has Russell T Davies spoilt doctor who? is most definitely not a minor edit. --Tangerineduel 16:18, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

Infoboxes and pagesedit source

An infobox and only an infobox in a new page does not make an article, such examples will be deleted. An article needs to have substance (more than an infobox). --Tangerineduel 15:27, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

I have a question. If you're writing up the articles why not wait until its written and then add the infobox and create the page later, currently they're just sitting not being articles at all. --Tangerineduel 16:02, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

DVDedit source

Look at Bred for War andBeneath the Surface if you want to make the Davros set, I can't as I don't have it. The Fires of Pomepeii of pompeii was sad and the pyroviles were rubbish so was the Doctors Daughter.--Skittles the hog 16:15, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

I'll do it after Dr.Who--Skittles the hog 17:53, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Re: Tangerineduel talk pageedit source

Your account was not blocked (see Block log), User:Doctormania was for constant removal from pages, in accordance with our Vandalism and Unhelpful Content Policy the user was a registered user and therefore was blocked for six months. If you can enlighten as to any possible confusion in the matter it would be appreciated. --Tangerineduel 12:23, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

It isn't just a case of Doctormania obtaining your "user number" he would need you name and password (if you believe your password has been broken I suggest immediately changing it via 'my preference') Additionally if Doctormania had broken your password it would be your user name that showed up in the edit history rather than his (You may not have been able to access this wiki yesterday as the wikia servers were down for approx 30 minutes, during that time the site was operating in a read-only mode). As for the SV7 article, it isn't protected so I can't for see any problems with uploading and adding images. Though when checking out the SV7 page I noticed your signature on it, you do not need to sign articles only talk and forum pages. --Tangerineduel 12:54, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

You can use it. Good look with the page.--Skittles the hog 18:36, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

You have added yourself to the robot and second doctor enemy cateogories please remove this. Users are not in universe you can place yourself in the user category though.--Skittles the hog 16:49, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Re Star Trek and other thingsedit source

I actually replied to YOUR comments on MY talk page. But in future I will reply to your comments left on my talk page on your talk page. As to the Star Trek page, all the references are valid and the sources are cited, Star Trek and it references to it are in the various sources that are mentioned on the page. As to the Cyberwraithes page, I stand by my comments, so until there's verifiable information on it, it shouldn't be created (this also goes for the Christmas special, any pages created called '2008 Christmas Special' will also get deleted). As for your password and other having access to your account I would suggest changing your password, lest the someone else's actions on your account be interpreted as vandalism. --Tangerineduel 15:18, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Target booksedit source

Liabraries are a good place to find Target books. Some also have soundtracks. Today I took out the soundtracks to The Abominable Snowmen and Fury from the Deep. Life aint bad apart from that darn eurovision contest. The Macra terror is good.--Skittles the hog 18:35, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Re Forumsedit source

The 'Has RTD spoilt Doctor Who' topic I let run (partly because you were a new user) and it allowed people to discuss a topic which might have manifested itself through a variety of Talk pages.

As for an admin check out Wikipediahttp://tardis.wikia.com/index.php?title=User_talk:Quark16&action=edit:Administrators, but basically I and the other admins help manage this wiki, stop stuff like vandalism and other abuses of the wiki, keep in place the Manual of Style, fix up stuff, help other users etc. --Tangerineduel 14:49, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Journey's End...and other articlesedit source

Generally I've just been letting the Journey's End article(s) run their course, most of it's speculation (and I don't give a flying banana about speculation and rumours) and anyways most if not all of it will be re-edited when the episodes (ie eps 9 through to 13) get broadcast, letting them be constantly re-edited I see as damage control it limits the random edits by visitors to around 4 or 5 articles. However of course feel free to re-edit/undo the offending edits. --Tangerineduel 17:40, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Re Bred For Waredit source

I don't know whether you should buy it, only you know that. I don't know if there's anything different from th single releases. Everything that I've read says it's exactly the same as the individual releases. Going by the other boxed sets (Key to Time, New Beginnings etc) the cases are the same as the single releases. As for the Davros page I go and get rid of the stuff in the behind the scenes section that are rumours occasionally every now and then. As for the Sex page...well the New Adventures were known for it, I wouldn't say Ace was a 'slut' she was just adventurous (Jason Kane on the other hand has slept with all manner of alien including a Pakhar, which looks like a 4 ft hamster). Hope this helps. --Tangerineduel 18:04, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Dalek Geriledit source

I was wondering when someone would see the similarities. Your clever. Do you like my vids?--Skittles the hog 15:44, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Warningedit source

This is a warning, please do not upload leaked images or add them to new or established pages. Such actions may be interpreted as vandalism and in line with our Vandalism and Unhelpful Content Policy action will be taken and your account may be blocked. --Tangerineduel 15:48, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

You di very well. I am creating a website with goopgle page creator and it is a detailed datbase on Doctor Who but is not very complete at the moments so probly wont be online for a few months as I rarely edit it. John Simm should be the 11th doc, yes I no he played the master but its possible. Use the shout box talkie thing now so I dont have to keep going to your page. :)--Skittles the hog 16:15, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Sorryedit source

Sorry I went outside and forgot. R u still on say on the box if u r.--Skittles the hog 16:44, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Bred for Waredit source

Curse of the Fatal Deathedit source

If you read the Paul McGann page all it does is make a note of the fact that the two actors (McGann and Grant) have worked together on Whitnail. As for the naming convention, I took it off the Curse of the Fatal Death article page, to make sure everything had a consistent name. --Tangerineduel 17:52, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Shadaedit source

Of the 6 part story much of the location work was completed, also most of the material set in Chronotis' study and Think Tank. What wasn't shot was the stuff that takes place at Shada (the planet), almost everything on Skagra's ship (with the exception of Romana, Chris Parsons and K9 being locked up), everything on the Krag's ship and scenes set within the Doctor's TARDIS. The scenes that were shot were edited together and released along with linking narration by Tom Baker shot inside the Museum for the Moving Image. There's also the webcast which completed the story. --Tangerineduel 12:39, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Recent page creationsedit source

This is a warning, creating pages with no content (such as 'The Iron Circle', 'The Kiss of Life') such actions are considered to be vandalism and in line with our Vandalism and Unhelpful Content Policy action will be taken. --Tangerineduel 15:04, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Ah, sorry, too late. I just deleted all of them. Next time it might be better to either open tabs for all of them and keep them waiting or to fill them in one at a time, or put some sort of note in the summary so admins know what you're doing. --Tangerineduel 15:08, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

User Pageedit source

Hi There just letting you know that your contributions link doesn't go to your contributions rater it goes to Special:Contributions/CzechOut you may wish to change the name :) Dark Lord Xander 04:28, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

 • When you click the contributions link on the left side of the large number of edits sign it goes to CzechOut contributions instead of yours does this help Dark Lord Xander 13:42, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

If you like i can fix it for you thanks about the user page by the way :) Dark Lord Xander 13:45, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Fixed your TARDIS contributions link will now go to your contributions :) Dark Lord Xander 15:03, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Original Seriesedit source

 • It's hard to say if your a fan of the new series then i suggest something more recent such as the sixth of seventh doctor (at the moment i am watching The Two doctors, Rememberance of the daleks is also good.) as they have belivable effects but if your not worried about effects perhapse the three doctors (very funny) or genisis of the daleks hope i could help Dark Lord Xander 15:25, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
 • Yes i have but in order to use it i have to change the skin of the wiki to one that i don't particularly like Dark Lord Xander 00:20, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Red linksedit source

Umm...don't? The wikilinks have been discussed a while ago, basically there should be a balance between the links that go outside of this wiki and those that stay within it. A rule of thumb should be to click the red link and find out what actually links to it, if the only page that is linking to it is the page that it's on then maybe it can be outsourced to wikipedia. But you sort of need to look at it objectively and see if it can be cross linked to a page within this wiki. For example: seance, chloraform, Naples, clairvoyance, shouldn't go out to wikipedia, seance should link to psychics or something, chloraform has been used previously (to kill Shockeye in The Two Doctors) Naples I think has appeared elsewhere and clairvoyance also would link to psychics. --Tangerineduel 16:10, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure Oscar Wilde is mentioned (and appears) elsewhere, unless you're sure don't outsource it, is my rule of thumb, within the story notes when it's referring to another work that's not covered on this wiki is okay for the most part). As for the Dalek image have you looked through Category:Screenshots, Category:DWIA images (these are all within the Category:Images category). If you can't find the image you're looking for the Doctor Who Image Archive is a good source of images, you might also be able to find an image on the BBC's classic Doctor Who site BBC classic Doctor Who, failing that a Google search, there is a list of websites in Tardis:Resources (though I've already mentioned the most useful). As to your other question, no I didn't create this wiki, User:Freethinker1of1 was one of the founders though. --Tangerineduel 17:58, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Sub Pagesedit source

What you are asking for is a subpage they are easy to create simply of the Page you want) will give you a new user sub page as for whether or not you can have them the answer is yes i've got them for my contributions and for my collection page and you can to.

Thanks for the support about admin nominations it means a lot since i thought no one was interested.

Hope this helped if not let me know Dark Lord Xander 06:26, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

User:Quark16/Reviews

My Sub Pagesedit source

Well my collection page is really out of date, got alot of new stuff since then but i update my contribution page regularly the main reason i don't update them very much is i don't have alot of time to spend on the wiki and i would rather spend the time that i have adding on the main part of the wiki Dark Lord Xander 06:01, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

User page policyedit source

I've finished the preliminary work on this wiki's policy, see Tardis:User page policy for the user page policy and Tardis:User image policy for the user image policy. --Tangerineduel 07:37, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Please remember when uploading user images, as listed in our Tardis:User image policy to add user image template to the image page, otherwise the image may be viewed as potential vandalism and deleted, thank you. --Tangerineduel 14:01, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
Not quite sure what you're asking. I've added a user image template to Image:Dorian Gray by Ivy Dragonlune.jpg, you can add it just by editing the page (as you would any normal article), as for the image Image:ManWhoLaughs.jpg, you can still use it, just be aware that it will count towards the allowed personal user image upload of 3 images, if you no longer want it place a proposed deletion tag on it and it'll get deleted. --Tangerineduel 15:49, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

Shoutboxedit source

I haven't really been keeping an eye on the shout box, but looking at it at Special:WidgetDashboard, it seems the last posting was on the 23rd Sept. It still seems to be working. As for them sticking around, there has been a recent update ofthe media wiki, so that may have affected it. --Tangerineduel 13:35, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

Christmas cheeredit source

Happy holidays!

As this fiftieth anniversary year comes to a close, we here at Tardis just want to thank you for being a part of our community — even if you haven't edited here in a while. If you have edited with us this year, then thanks for all your hard work.

This year has seen an impressive amount of growth. We've added about 11,000 pages this year, which is frankly incredible for a wiki this big. November was predictably one of the busiest months we've ever had: over 500 unique editors pitched in. It was the highest number of editors in wiki history for a year in which only one programme in the DWU was active. And our viewing stats have been through the roof. We've averaged well over 2 million page views each week for the last two months, with some weeks seeing over 4 million views!

We've received an unprecedented level of support from Wikia Staff, resulting in all sorts of new goodies and productive new relationships. And we've recently decided to lift almost every block we've ever made so as to allow most everyone a second chance to be part of our community.

2014 promises to build on this year's foundations, especially since we've got a full, unbroken series coming up — something that hasn't happened since 2011. We hope you'll stick with us — or return to the Tardis — so that you can be a part of the fun!
