Thanks for your recent edits! I'm Jimbo, your robot wiki representative! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is actually a great time to have joined, because we're now fully independent, and working on a host of new features!

We've got a couple of important quirks for a fan written wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.

British English, please

We generally use British English 'round these parts, so if you use another form of English, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.

Spoilers aren't cool

We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.

Other useful stuff

Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:

If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! —  you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:

Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:

Infobox images[[edit source]]

Heya :) Thanks for your recent edits. I see that our welcome bot inadvertently missed giving you a welcome message, along with a basic overview of our rules. So I've plopped them on your page manually. Sorry about that. Had they showed up on your page today, you'd have been able to find one of our important image rules -- we never illustrate characters with promotional images. Please take some time to read this rule, as well as our image cheat sheet so that you can be familiar with our image use rules. Thanks! :)

Other image issues[[edit source]]

Hey again. Sorry to be back so soon on your talk page, but some other issues have arisen since I last left a message here.

  • Something in the dark.png is a png, which is disallowed; all screenshots must be .jpgs.
    • It is also 1.41mb, which is way, way, too big. Max size for screenshots is 100 kilobytes (kb). You can use a site like http://tinypng.com to bring down the size of jpgs.
    • It also has no copyright license on it. You must use the most accurate copyright tag on your images. A handy drop-down menu is present at Special:Upload. Most of the time, screenshots use {{screenshot}}.
    • The image is also not categorised in any way. You should at least add the category for the TV story involved (in this case I think it's probably Category:They Keep Killing Suzie TV story images) and the one for the main subject of the image, if there is one. In this case, we don't have such a category, because Suzie Costello is a relatively minor character.
  • You've additionally uploaded File:738f7857e8731e95a33ca122aae09772.jpg which fails our standards because:
    • It's too narrow -- all images must be at least 420px wide
    • It's practically square -- all images should attempt widescreen aspect ratios of 16:9 where possible. Since this image derives from a 21st century TV show shot in 16:9, it was certainly possible to obtain a widescreen image.
    • It's also not a particularly sharp image.
    • Its name is gibberish. All file names need to be plain English descriptions of their content.
    • It has some of the same flaws as the previous image: no license tag, no categories.

For the benefit of Tardis readers, I urge you again to please read and abide by our image policies. Failure to do so may result in the temporary suspension of your editing rights here.
