Voice eating wombats were a species that lived on Metebelis Four. They stored the voices they stole in the Cacophony of Doom.

At one point in the 20th century, relative to Sooty's native time period on Earth, he and Iris Wildthyme were on Metebelis Four when the wombats stole Sooty's voice. Upon his and Iris's next encounter, she realised Sooty still lacked his voice and reassured him that she'd sort it out.
