Walter Howarth was one of the most prolific artists working on British annuals from the 1950s to the 1990s. His work ranged from Maverick to Doctor Who. He was the principal illustrator of several Doctor Who annuals. Additionally, Howarth was the illustrator for the frontispiece art for the Doctor Who novella Blood and Hope.
