Lee Harvey Oswald (18 October 1939 – 24 November 1963) was an American communist and lathe operator. He is most famous for assassinating President John F. Kennedy and police officer J.D. Tippit, on the day before Doctor Who premiered. Oswald and the Kennedy assassination have been oft referenced in the DWU.
On 22 November 1963, the Ninth Doctor was photographed in Dealey Plaza in Dallas. President Kennedy passed within a few feet of him an instant before being fatally shot by Oswald. (TV: Rose; WEB: Defending the Earth!) At the same time, the Doctor's seventh incarnation and Ace were in London, combating Daleks at 76 Totter's Lane and the Coal Hill School. (TV: Remembrance of the Daleks) Later in the day, Oswald murders Dallas Police Officer J.D. Tippit.
On 23 November 1963, newspaper front pages headlines reported the capture of Oswald. (TV: The Cambridge Spy). The Seventh Doctor and Ace were still in London. At 5:15 p.m., Ace heard a programming announcement: "This is BBC television, the time is quarter past five and Saturday viewing continues with an adventure in the new science fiction series Do-" (TV: Remembrance of the Daleks)
On 24 November 1963, Oswald was murdered by nightclub owner Jack Ruby while being transported by police.
On 23 November 1988, the Seventh Doctor asserted to Ace that Oswald was influenced to kill Kennedy by the Nemesis comet. (TV: Silver Nemesis)
On an unspecified date, likely after the 21st century, the spaceship Alaska crashed into the Dalek Asylum planet. The only two persons known to have survived impact were crewman Harvey and assistant entertainment manager Oswin Oswald. Harvey froze to death on the surface and was converted by the nanocloud into a Dalek puppet. Oswald was captured and entirely converted into a Dalek. (TV: Asylum of the Daleks)
