Doctor Who Magazine #389 was current between mid-November 2007 and 12 December 2007. Thus it was on British newsstands during the transmission of Time Crash. Appropriately, it corrected a typographical mistake made on the cover of issue 61 by spelling Peter Davison's name correctly in the headline, "Peter Davison is the Doctor!" Editor Tom Spilsbury humorously made the magazine's long overdue public apology to Davison in his interior notes.

The issue also featured the results of the annual reader's poll, this time judging the merits of series 3.
