Hal the Archer was a servant of Lord Edward of Wessex and his wife, Lady Eleanor. He helped the Third Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith defeat Irongron: first, when Sarah Jane Smith spiked Irongron's food to make them fall asleep and he took their weapons; second, when he killed Linx by shooting an arrow into his probic vent so Linx could not escape.
