Our Planet Story was a Gallifreyan nursery book. Romana and the Doctor both had copies when they were Time Tots; the Doctor thought it was "very good". It related Gallifreyan history, from Rassilon to criminals such as Lady Scintilla and Salyavin. One passage read:
- And in the Great Days of Rassilon, five great principles were laid down. Can you remember what they were, my children? (WC: Shada, AUDIO: Shada, PROSE: Shada)
The book was illustrated vividly; decades later, Romana recalled a picture of "the wild, screaming insanity of the Great Mind Outlaw Salyavin" and another illustration of Scintilla, a "haughty flame-haired woman in red robes" with "six-inch razor-sharp nails painted blood red". (PROSE: Shada)
Behind the scenes
The passage above is found in all versions of Shada, but the title Our Planet Story and the details of its illustrations come from the novelisation by Gareth Roberts.
