Character Options manufactured Doctor Who action figures in the 5" scale which tied into the 2008 series of Doctor Who. The series began with figures from Voyage of the Damned that had not been included in the series 3 releases.
As was customary for Character Options, the figures were not actually 5" tall. Instead the Dalek figure was 5" tall, and all others were scaled to match. [1] Figures were often released in batches, referred to as "Waves". Thus, a figure might be said to be in "Wave 1", or "Wave 2" for example.
Peculiar to this series, eleven figures were released separately as part of a branded "collect-and-build line". Each individual figure in this "line" contained component parts for another figure. When assembled, the parts created an 8" mounted Vespiform. A number of the figures in this "line" were also made available as a boxed character set — without the Vespiform parts.
