The Doctor apologises to the woodlice he scorched when he realises that he had simply fallen from the tree. The settlement is rocked when down below Isis and Ted’s dad returns to the garden tree with his axe. It is too far for the Doctor and his friends to climb down to stop the tree felling but the woodlice provide a leaf-boat to ride the air currents to the ground staying close to the trunk so as not to get lost in time. Once safely on the ground the tree felling is brought to halt ensuring the tree continues to have a great future ahead of it.
