June
- 28 - The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary triggers a series of events that rapidly escalate into Earth's first global conflict, World War I. Unknown to the general populace, however, the start of the war was in fact influenced by Nemesis (DW: Silver Nemesis). Active warfare would continue until November 1918, with a formal peace treaty ending the war being signed on June 28, 1919, the fifth anniversary of the assassination.

- 23 - Roger Avon, who played Saphadin in "The Crusade" and Daxtar in "The Daleks' Master Plan," as well as Wells in "Daleks - Invasion Earth 2150 AD," is born in Jarrow, England.

- Dudley Jones, who played John Dyson in "The Tenth Planet," is born in Watford, England.
