Doctor Rajesh Singh was a researcher at the Torchwood Institute.
At the time of his death, Rajesh was at Torchwood 1, where he was assigned to research and monitor the Void Ship. He had undergone psychic training on entering Torchwood and saw through the psychic paper's illusions, foiling Rose's attempt to gather information.
Singh was intelligent and generally pleasant. He was direct and task-oriented. He seemed more annoyed by Rose's infiltration than concerned, (TV: Army of Ghosts) though when the Cult of Skaro emerged from the Void Ship, he realised the gravity of what Torchwood had been doing. He claimed personal responsibility for allowing it to happen and volunteered himself as the "least valuable" person present. He did not know that to do so would lead to his death. The Cult's information probes were so powerful that they shrivelled his head and entire body. All that remained of Singh's body was a burned-out husk which collapsed to the floor before the Daleks. (TV: Doomsday)
