Marlow was an old friend of Irving Braxiatel. He collected magician's equipment and on his death his assistant Brenda donated the collection to the Braxiatel Collection. He wasn't dead; he faked it as he wanted to marry Brenda but it was against the Magician's code. (PROSE: Nothing Up My Sleeve)
