Light's ship was the craft used by the alien Light when traveling around the universe to complete his Catalog. The ship had landed on Earth and was found by Redvers Fenn-Cooper who transported it to England. Upon it was built a Victorian house known as Gabriel Chase. Josiah Samuel Smith, another alien occupant of the ship awoke inside it and continued his job as Light's surveyor of life by taking on the form of a Victorian gentleman.
There was another female occupant of the ship called Control.
After Light's death, Josiah left Earth in the ship and the Doctor had not encountered it again. (DW: Ghost Light)
