- It was felt that Victor Pemberton’s adaptation of his televised story as a novelisation, even though it had a much higher word count, should not be cut down, and was ultimately released as a bumper volume with an increased cover price of £1.95 (UK).

- This publication had a higher word and page count than the usual releases and commanded a higher cover price.
