The Ruthven Inheritance is the eighth Big Finish Productions audio drama in the Jago and Litefoot series and the finale of Series Two.

- This story marks the death of Professor Litefoot's fellow pathologist, Dr. Ormond Sacker (Duncan Wisbey).
- Simon Williams (Lord Ruthven) previously played Group Captain Ian Gilmore in TV: Remembrance of the Daleks and would reprise his role in the audio spin-off series Counter-Measures. He also played Paul Addison and Shara in AUDIO: Nekromanteia.
- This audio drama was recorded on 25, 26, 29 and 30 March 2010.
Continuity
- This story marks the first time that Jago and Litefoot have met Leela since the events of TV: The Talons of Weng-Chiang.
