Simon Williams (born 16 June 1946[1]) played Group Captain Ian Gilmore in the Doctor Who television story Remembrance of the Daleks and reprised his role in the Big Finish spin-off series Counter-Measures and 1963: The Assassination Games, The Reesinger Process and The Split Infinitive. He also voiced several other roles in various Big Finish Doctor Who audio stories and spin-offs.

On the DVD audio commentary for Remembrance of the Daleks, Sophie Aldred mentions that she was especially nervous to be working with Williams because she used to fancy him when he appeared in Upstairs, Downstairs.

He was previously considered for the roles of Eirak in Terminus (TCH 37) and Commander Vorshak in Warriors of the Deep. (TCH 38)

He is the husband of Lucy Fleming, the father of Tam Williams and the former brother-in-law of both Kate O'Mara and Nigel Havers.
