Lancashire was a county in England.

While searching the wrecked TARDIS, the Eleventh Doctor used Gregor's Scanner to find Clara based on her Lancashire origins. Later, the scanner picked up that one of the Time Zombies was also from Lancashire, denoting that this was what Clara would become.
