Hooverville

Hooverville was a shantytown for the homeless refugees of the Great Depression situated in the middle of Central Park in New York City. A man known as Solomon acted as its unofficial leader.

The Doctor and Martha Jones visited there in 1930, and helped investigate where many of its residents were disappearing to whilst working for Mr Diagoras. They found that many of them had been kidnapped and subjected to genetic experiments by the Cult of Skaro turning them into beings known as pig slaves.

Hooverville was the site of an attack by the Cult of Skaro on 1930 New York, Dalek Caan and Thay attacked Hooverville with a troop of pig slaves. When the attack became evident Solomon rallied the occupants of Hoovervile into an army (of sorts) to defend the town, but as it became desperate he attempted a negotiation, but was exterminated by Dalek Caan.
