The Endeavour was an 18th century British Royal Navy vessel captained by James Cook.
The TARDIS landed on the ship in 1770. At the time, it was voyaging across the Pacific, having witnessed the transit of Venus and then on the way to discovering Australia. The First Doctor, Ian Chesterton, Barbara Wright and Susan had just left the Sense-Sphere and unknown to them, Susan's telepathic abilities were still affected by the environment there. She unintentionally sent information about the future mentally to the ship's botanist Joseph Banks. This caused him to grow paranoid and eventually make the Endeavour run aground on the Great Barrier Reef. (AUDIO: The Transit of Venus)
