== An Alternate Plot ==
This is an alternate plot for Army Of Ghosts and Doomsday. This version takes the Daleks out of the story, as I believe the two-parter should've had the Cybermen as the main villain. This new version also incorporates the Doctor's hand, which was cut of in The Christmas Invasion. While the Doctor takes Rose and Jackie Tyler to Torchwood, Jackie takes the Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver and accidentally uses it on the hand. Unlike Journey's End, where the hand turns into meta-crisis version of the 10th Doctor, the hand undergoes a retro-regeneration-like process and becomes the 9th Doctor. The meta-crisis version of the 9th Doctor realizes that the man with whom Rose is standing is himself after he generated. The meta-crisis 9th Doctor has the exact same memories as the 10th Doctor, much like the meta-crisis 10th Doctor, who would later appear in Journey's End. However, the 10th Doctor later loses his 2nd hand when fighting the Cybermen and ends up using energy from his previous hand loss to grow it back, taking it back to the Tardis and storing it away. This story now incorporates North Korea, who is preparing to go to war with America. The current North Korean president, Kim Jong Il has discovered news of a parallel world, from Hyon Hak-bong, North Korea's ambassador to the UK of the Cybermen in Pete's World. Hyon has secretly stolen void transportation devices from Torchwood, allowing Kim Jong Il to study the workings of Cyber Factories in Pete's World, and build his own Cyber Factory in the capital, Pyongyang, as an alternate strategy of waging war against America, South Korea and China, instead of using nuclear weapons. Torchwood quickly sets up an office in the South Korean capital, Seoul,and also in Washington DC only without a lever room like Torchwood 1, in London. In Torchwood, when the Cybermen override the levers and send them into Ghost Shift, the Doctor analyses the earpiece which Yvonne Hartman pulls out of Adeola Oshodi's ear and finds out that it is North Korea who is controlling Torchwood. The Cybermen emerge from the construction area and march the Doctor and Yvonne back to the lever room, increasing the ghost shift to 100%, and allowing more ghosts to pass through the void and into our world. On the Korean Demilitarized Zone, American and South Korean troops receive a report from Torchwood that the ghosts are actually Cybermen controlled by North Korea. Many of the Cybermen manage to cross the DMZ and make it out of the North and into the South. In the sphere room, as the sphere opens, it descends, allowing Kim Jong Il, and his son-in-waiting, Kim Jong Un to exit with the Cybermen. Thanks to the Tardis translation circuits, Jong Il and Jong Un can both speak fluent English. After the preachers appear to rescue the Doctor, and take him to the parallel world to meet Pete Tyler, they go to rescue Rose and Mickey. America and South Korea have now managed to fend off the Cybermen and invade the North. As the heroes head to the lever room, North Korea begins mass upgrading of Cybermen, converting people in North Korean prison camps into Cybermen, along with captured members of the British, South Korean and American military forces. When they find Kim Jong Il and Kim Jong Un there, the 9th Doctor begins to attack Jong Il, while the 10th goes after Jong Un. They both attempt to use void transportation devices to escape, but are stopped. They then quickly use an emergency transmat system to return to Pyongyang. Kim Jong Il orders all Cybermen in Western Europe to London to hold the city and cut it off from the rest of the United Kingdom, and all Cybermen in Asia, America and Eastern Europe to Pyongyang to mount a final defense. America and South Korea appear to be winning the Korean Cyber War and continue to send troops to Britain, while also trying to take Pyongyang. At Torchwood, Mickey Smith uses Torchwood's missile system to launch a missile at the Cyber Factory in Pyongyang. The 9th Doctor, along with Rose, Mickey, Jackie, Pete and the preachers are sent to the parallel world. Rose returns, but the 9th Doctor doesn't follow her. Yvonne Hartman, now in Cyber form destroys Cybermen entering the lever room. However, she is destroyed in the process. As the levers are switched on, Cybermen enter the lever room, only to be sucked in. As millions of Cybermen are sucked into the void, North Korea is forced to declare a ceasefire with America, however, no peace treaty is decided, so the war technically continues. When Rose gets sucked into the Void, the 9th Doctor suddenly appears and catches her and takes her to Pete's World. However, they are stranded. While Rose laments the loss of the 10th Doctor, she becomes glad she has the 9th Doctor at her side. In Pete's World, Rose has dreams of the 10th Doctor and goes to Bad Wolf Bay to meet him for the final time, and unlike the original version of Doomsday, the 10th Doctor manages to profess his love for Rose, but says that at least she has the Doctor she knew before his regeneration with her. The 10th Doctor then loses the signal and finds Donna Noble standing in the Tardis. [[User:Mc1934|Mc1934]] [[User talk:Mc1934|☎]] 21:28, December 15, 2016 (UTC)

Mickey mentions that there could be a cyber king in the sphere. This could mean that there could have been another cyber king constructed in the parallel world prior to the events of The Next Doctor.Invictus152 19:49, May 31, 2010 (UTC)

Either that or he was just guessing. User:Solar Dragon/Signature 20:01, May 31, 2010 (UTC)

Jackie as a companion

Shouldn't Jackie be counted as a companion in this story as she did travel in the TARDIS and did assist the Doctor throughout most of the episode.The preceding unsigned comment was added by Fireball99 (talk • contribs) .

Easier Solution

The Tenth Doctor could've stopped it all happening, but why didn't he? I shall explain how he could've stopped the ghosts turning into Cybermen — the whole 5 million of 'em.

One, he could've destroyed the computers that the programmed employees used to make the "Ghost Shift" 90%. In The Time Traveler's Almanac it says that the Cybermen in the area behind the polythene sheets could control the employees from there with the (unseen) technology they possibly built. In "The Long Game" a sonic screwdriver was capable of destroying a landline phone, so surely it could've destroyed the computers / levers in the Lever Room.

Two, he could've used his sonic screwdriver to interfere with the Cyber Leader increasing the "Ghost Shift", the sonic screwdriver could have been used to decrease the "Ghost Shift" to 0%, and/or deactivated the emotional inhibitors of the Cybermen, stopping them from interfering with the "Ghost Shift"

Three. he could've used his sonic screwdriver to............ well............ there are probably a gazillion other options he could've done.

So what do you think? Could the Tenth Doctor have stopped it? SniperKing1 19:05, October 5, 2014 (UTC)
