Sherlock was a BBC One television program on Earth based on the stories of Sherlock Holmes. A teenager had a poster for the show on her wall, in the 2010s. (COMIC: Killer App) When the Twelfth Doctor asked Noah Holland if he has read Sherlock Holmes, Noah asked, "the guy on the telly?" (PROSE: The Shining Man)
Behind the scenes
Sherlock was co-created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, and written entirely by them and Stephen Thompson. Sherlock and Doctor Who share many other crew members, as well.
Starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as John Watson, Sherlock retells Arthur Conan Doyle's classic stories, in a modern setting and original storyline. The series also stars Gatiss himself as Mycroft Holmes, Rupert Graves as Inspector Lestrade, Louise Brealey as pathologist Molly Hooper, and Una Stubbs as landlady Mrs Hudson.
The Sherlock versions of John and Sherlock appear in Sprout Boy meets a Galaxy of Stars alongside the Twelfth Doctor.
