Mr Folgate was a vicar in a church in London, England, for which his wife often sewed hassocks. The couple favoured their eldest son Gerald over Norton, on account of the latter's homosexuality and his working for Torchwood. After the war, the couple later moved to a parish in the Cotswolds.
