Malachite

Malachite was a soft gemstone.

Russian tradition held that it warded off the Evil Eye and witchcraft. The Malachite Room in the Thirteen-Day Republic had malachite pillars, fireplaces and decorative motifs, but Anastasia also had the walls covered in the material. (PROSE: The Book of the War)
