Dudley Foster (7 August 1924-8 January 1973[1]) played Maurice Caven in the Doctor Who television story The Space Pirates.
A former member of Joan Littlewood's Theatre Workshop[2], Foster began to appear regularly on television in the 1960s, often being cast as policemen or villains. His numerous credits include The Avengers, Danger Man, The Saint, Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), Steptoe and Son, The Persuaders! and Public Eye. However, Foster is best known for playing Detective Inspector Dunn on Z-Cars.
