Continuity

Neither the Doctor nor his companions (who remain in the TARDIS in this story) are identified in this story. However, since it was published at around the time that The Three Doctors was broadcast, it is probably the Third Doctor. The only times that he had more than one companion was when he traveled with Jo Grant and Liz Shaw (PDA: The Wages of Sin) and with Jo and Mike Yates (MA: Speed of Flight). Since it is implied that Jo and Mike have a series of adventures with the Doctor, it is more likely the latter pairing.
