Bill Lyons played the Guard on Denes in the Doctor Who story The Enemy of the World.
Lyons debuted in a 1962 episode of Dixon of Dock Green, after which he appeared in Z-Cars, Softly, Softly, Adam Adamant Lives!, Coronation Street, Out of the Unknown, Softly, Softly: Taskforce and The Liver Birds. However, he turned to writing in 1973, penning scripts for Crossroads, Z-Cars, Blake's 7, Juliet Bravo and EastEnders. Since the 1990s, most of his writing career has been for Emmerdale.
