Anton Diffring (born 20 October 1916 in Koblenz, Germany; died 19 May 1989 in France)[1] played De Flores in the Doctor Who television story Silver Nemesis.

He was best known in the English-speaking world for his portrayal of Nazi officers, in films such as Where Eagles Dare (1968) and The Heroes of Telemark (1965). He appeared in the 1966 film adaptation of Fahrenheit 451, playing one of the firemen and also the school headmistress. He also starred in the film Operation Daybreak as the SS officer Reinhard Heydrich.
