On 5 March 2005, Michael (PROSE: Rose) answered the door to speak to Rose Tyler. She asked to speak to Clive, and he called for him, saying Rose was "one of [his] nutters". (TV: Rose) He had a brother in Ben. (PROSE: Rose)
Later, while shopping, he saw Autons kill his father in their invasion of Earth. Caroline and her sons ran from them and all three of them managed to survive. (TV: Rose)
